Hi, I’m Muhammad Din — I’ve spent 4 years testing kitchen tools in my own kitchen so you don’t have to guess which ones hold up.
It started with a set of kitchen tools that looked great in photos, had hundreds of five-star reviews, and fell apart within three months — swap in the real specific failure here: the coating flaked, the hinge snapped, whatever actually happened. One true detail here will do more for this page than anything else I can write.
When I went looking for honest advice about what to buy instead, I found the same problem everywhere: generic “Top 10” lists, written by people who had clearly never held the product they were ranking. So I began testing the tools myself and keeping track of my findings. That’s HomePlora.
Who I Am
I’m Muhammad Din. For the past 4 years, I’ve tested kitchen tools, cookware, and design ideas in my own kitchen — not a lab, not a studio set up for photos, just daily use.
I’m not a culinary school graduate and I’m not a professional chef. What I have instead: four years of using these products the way you would — cooking with them, washing them, watching which ones hold an edge, keep their grip, or survive the dishwasher, and which ones quietly get worse after the second week.
I don’t recommend a product until I’ve used it long enough to find its weak point. If I haven’t found one yet, I say so — and I keep using it.
Why I Started HomePlora
I started HomePlora because I wanted the opposite of what I’d been finding online: no brand partnerships deciding what gets ranked first, no sponsored placement, no recycled spec sheets dressed up as reviews.
Every article on this site starts with the same question I ask myself before I buy anything: would I actually put this in my own kitchen drawer? If the answer’s no, I don’t publish a “maybe.” I say no.
